What we collect, and why
If you contact us — your name, email, phone, and whatever you write. To answer you.
If you submit a manuscript — name, affiliation, email, ORCID, and the manuscript. To run peer review and, if accepted, to publish it and deposit its metadata. Note that a published article is public and permanent by design. Your name and affiliation on a published paper cannot be withdrawn afterwards; that is what publication means.
If you review — name, affiliation, expertise, and your review. Under double-blind review, your identity is not disclosed to the author.
If you enrol on a course — name, contact, professional details, payment confirmation, and your work. To teach you and to issue your certificate.
If you are a patient — health information you give us. To assess and treat you. Held under clinical confidentiality and never used for marketing.
If you submit research for ethical review — the protocol and everything with it. Seen by the Institutional Review Board and its Secretary. Not by our directors by virtue of their office — that restriction exists because a director able to read the Board’s deliberations on their own protocol would make the recusal rules meaningless.
If you visit this site — basic analytics. Aggregate, not individual.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. To anyone. Ever. We do not show advertising on this site, and we do not let anyone pay to reach you through it. We do not use your health information for marketing. We do not send you email you did not ask for.
Who sees it
Only the people who need to: editors and reviewers handling your manuscript; the practitioner treating you; the tutor teaching you; the Board reviewing your protocol.
Our technical suppliers — hosting, journal platform, email, payment processing — process data on our instructions. They may not use it for their own purposes.
We disclose to authorities only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Published articles: permanently. That is the point of publication. Peer review records: five years after the decision. Ethics records: minimum five years after study closure, and available for audit. Clinical records: as required by professional obligation. Enquiries: as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to info@lmi.education and we will respond within 30 days.
Two honest limits. A published article cannot be unpublished on request — the scholarly record is permanent, and journals correct or retract rather than erase. And clinical records must be kept for a period fixed by professional obligation, not by us.
Security, and what happens if it fails
Access controls, encryption in transit, restricted staff access, secure disposal.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If your data is lost or wrongly disclosed, we will tell you — what happened, what was affected, and what we are doing. We will not conceal a breach, and our own Board’s procedures make concealment a disciplinary matter.
AI
We do not put your personal data, your manuscript, your protocol, or your health information into public generative AI tools. Our reviewers are prohibited from doing so. Our Institutional Review Board members are prohibited from doing so.
Unpublished work given to us in confidence is not ours to feed into someone else’s system.
Children
This site is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Research involving children is a separate matter, governed by the Institutional Review Board and requiring both parental consent and the child’s own assent.
