The relationship
BMU Ventures (Private) Limited and Link Medical Interface (Private) Limited are separate companies, separately registered in Pakistan, under common ownership and common leadership, operating from the same address in Lahore. They are not parent and subsidiary. Neither owns the other.
Link Medical Interface publishes JHRR, JHWCR, LMJHCR, and JSLA, and operates the clinic, ORIC, education, and community services. BMU Ventures publishes JPMHR. Both operate from 8 Commercial, Sunny Park, Lahore.
Why two companies
LMI’s remit is health and medicine. BMU’s is broader. Keeping them distinct keeps the accounts, liabilities, and obligations of each clear, rather than merging health publishing into a general commercial vehicle.
Common ownership is disclosed rather than obscured, and that is deliberate. A publisher operating several corporate identities without disclosing the connection is doing something worth hiding. We are not, so we disclose it — on this page, on every journal profile, and in each journal’s own ownership statement.
Shared functions
Under a formal cooperation agreement, the following serve both companies: ORIC (research support, ethics coordination, grants, innovation, and commercialization); the Institutional Review Board (ethical review of research from either company); and the publishing policy framework (the same policies govern JPMHR as govern the LMI journals). ORIC is not a holding company and does not sit above either entity. It is a research office within Link Medical Interface that serves both by agreement.
What this means for authors
Every journal names its publisher. JPMHR states that it is published by BMU Ventures. The LMI journals state that they are published by Link Medical Interface. Common ownership does not mean shared editorial decisions — each journal has its own editor-in-chief and editorial board, and decides its own manuscripts.
